Low Latency Imaging for Next-Gen Mid-Circuit Quantum Measurements

Atom-and ion-based quantum computing platforms offer high scalability and fidelity but are hindered by slow readouts (less than 100 Hz). In this seminar Dr. Szmuk present a user-programmable FPGA-based control system for adaptive quantum circuits on trapped atoms and ions, achieving kHz readout rates with Hamamatsu’s ORCA-Quest qCMOS camera and Quantum Machines’ processor-based OPX controller. The system supports real-time processing with sub-100 µs latency, enabling complex gate sequences, mid-circuit readout, and efficient atom management.
